#RealtyNewsRoundUp: PM Inaugurates 81 Infra Projects In UP; Noida & Greater Noida Biggest Gainers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 81 projects worth Rs 60,000 crore in Lucknow on July 29. Noida and Greater Noida remain the most preferred investment destinations for big projects, especially those related to the information technology and electronics. This includes Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd’s Rs 10,000-crore project for laying of optical fibre network across UP and the Mobile Open Exchange Clusters (at World Trade Centre) Rs 10,000-crore project for developing an electronic manufacturing zone in Noida.

Following the Shahberi building collapse that killed nine people, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has registered a case against 74 builders for allegedly constructing 58 illegal buildings. In the complaint filed by the GNIDA, it was alleged that the builders were constructing the structures on the notified land of the authority without any permit.

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority has approved three housing society self-redevelopment proposals in Mumbai. Two more projects are in the pipeline whereby residents themselves will redevelop their properties without involving a builder.

A Parliamentary panel has pulled up the government over "slack implementation" of the Centre's flagship programmes, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), asking it to get its "act together" and address the issues.
