#RealtyNewsRoundUp: Jaypee Proposes To Deposit Rs 600 Cr By Selling Assets

Jaiprakash Associates Limited (JAL) on July 16 told the Supreme Court (SC) that it would deposit Rs 600 crore more to refund the homebuyers if it was allowed to dispose of its identified assets. The SC was also informed that JAL had already deposited Rs 750 crore with the apex court registry.

Villagers whose land has been identified to build the second airport in the national capital region in Jewar have refused to part ways with their asset unless they are paid four times the prevalent circle rate for it. The villagers expressed their views in a meeting held with officials from the Gautam Budh Nagar District Administration and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority on July 16.

A study by a domestic real estate advisor has indicated that the government's ambitious Smart Cities Mission has "failed to make remarkable progress" as only five per cent of the proposed projects are completed so far. It also said that only two per cent of the Rs 9,943 crore released under the mission have been utilised so far. The mission was launched in 2015.

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) will build 9,018 low-cost houses across the state. Homebuyers will be able to file their online application for the lottery from July 19 onwards. The draw for the same would be held on August 19.
