In the wake of West Bengal notifying its own real estate Act, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri made it clear that there was no ambiguity when it came to implementation of the Central law and states had to conform to it. Puri said that a letter had been written to the state government on the issue and asked the state to repeal its Act.

The committee of creditors appointed in the Jaypee insolvency case has rejected a proposal to reappoint Anuj Jain as the resolution professional. This committee is primarily led by homebuyers, who are unhappy with the way Jain has been handling the issue in the past.

As many as 46 real estate developers have received notices from the Ghaziabad Development Authority, directing them to register all flats by October 15 or face action. These developers have already given the possession to homebuyers in their projects.

Real estate developers have claimed that they have been asked by the Gujarat government to physically visit Capital Gandhinagar to upload their documents on the Online Development Permission System (ODPS) that provides necessary building permission for upcoming projects. The state government had launched the ODPS five months ago.

The Noida Authority is planning to convert the status of all properties from leasehold to freehold. The Noida Authority plans to use the revenue thus earned to improve the city infrastructure. It is also planning to allow homebuyers living in four-storey buildings to register each floor separately.
